Chad Morris is the highest paid G5 coach according to this USAToday list at just over 2 million.  So they are going to more than double the next highest G5 coach and put SF int the top 15 of all coaches?  I don't see it.

I also think it'd be tough to manage resentment when your coach make $5M and you don't have money for anything else (asst coaches, recruiting, travel...etc).

Doesn't make much sense.

Just out of curiosity, where do Husker fans think UCF's facilities rank out of 130 teams w/o researching them?
It doesn't really matter. G5 schools are getting somewhere around $40-50 million/year less money than the B1G, so even if they were #1 in facilities at some point, they will rapidly fall behind.

Well that certainly complicates things on our end, but we can just pay more. I doubt they can afford 6 to 7 million or more a year. I give UCF props for trying to keep him there and it might work, but he won't be staying because they outbid us. Time to get nasty behind the scenes and flex our financial muscle.

UCF would be better off paying an assistant 2 million a year than cripple their athletic department.   Even with that fund they hope to raise 1.5 million for would not be enough.

Ok, but this is why UCF is investing so much money in sports right now. They see where things are headed and if UCF can't prove that it deserves more than every other G5 school and a bunch of P5 schools, we'll get locked out forever. So they are putting a lot on the credit card right now. Our endowment is embarrassingly small. Our student athletic fees are massive. But UCF is hunkering down for the football apocalypse and we obviously think Frost is the guy to get us there.

Plus, a large portion of their athletic department budget comes from the students.  It would be difficult for them to upgrade facilities and then maintain them on the backs of their students.

This is such an odd turn of events.

You have to wonder if the fact that Nebraska wants Frost back so bad, is helping UCF build their case towards an eventual springboard into the B12? It's not that crazy to think about.
