I say we just put all the FBS teams in a 128 team bracket to start the season. Last team standing
Makes sense, but I really don't know who would want to go and coach in the SEC West. Until Saban leaves anyways, but even then, whoever inherits Alabama is going to be a good big named coach, LSU is either one coach Orgeron recruiting class away, or just one head coach away from being dominant again, Arkansas may eventually wake up and realize it can be a threat, just a gauntlet that SEC West.Yeah and in that discussion they said the same thing except that FSU were far worse. Also he’s not getting money he wants for assistants. Hence his name popping up for A&M
It shouldn't even be an option, frankly.
It would be like dating a woman and then going to her house and finding her ex-husband still living with her. "Oh don't mind him, he just helps to cook and clean the house."
Thank you!!! And the main thing is to LET HIM LEAVE!!! He shouldn't be kept around!!!
As long as they leave it on the message boards, newspapers, radio talk shows and that's it I really don't care. If they take it beyond that and start emailing or calling Frost or the department directly then I agree it's much. Otherwise it's just people talking. That's how people are. But yeah, I'd rather Frost and the people he trusts make these coaching decisions themselves without fan or media input.Maybe the press, fans and all involved, should leave things alone and let things settle with regards to Riley and Frost. God forbid that we stop pestering or throwing our input into the mix.
I know most are excited about the potential here, but nobody should be lobbying for a select group on Frost’s coaching staff, or lobbying for a new position for Riley. Frost will have a hard enough time telling all the ex-husker players (friends) that he does not intend to hire them for his staff.
Heck, some of the press is even out talking to past HS players that Frost has had a relationship (recruiting), asking them if they would come to Nebraska if Frost comes home.
We want success, I get it. Let him do what he has learned to do, without pressuring him to do things we think are best for the program. I believe between he and Moos, they will figure out the best options.
Just my .02¢

That's interesting.....I just looked up the article. I just don't know if a good ol' boy would want to be surrounded by Yankees? Actually, he's from WV closer to Penn and Ohio, so who knows. I like everything about his coaching and style of play.As crazy as it sounds apparently one of the reasons Fisher is being mentioned for openings is lack of support and resources at A&M. There was a good discussion about this on Sirius this week. Apparently the facilities and football offices there are in serious need of upgrades and it hasn’t happened. I actually think of the names totally out of left field that we could offer something to he fits the bill
Need more donations for that :cheers
Mike Leach would be a disaster. He is being made a hero for being very average with Washington State. Poor Tennessee if that's who they settle on.
Again, to me it's Frost or bust. Why? When Urban Meyer was hired by Florida, he averaged exactly 2 losses a season. When he was hired by OSU, he averaged 1.5 losses per season at Florida. Compare that to Riley who averaged 4.5 losses per season at Oregon State before being hired. Well, in three season he gave us an average of 6.3 losses.
Matt Campbell: Really after one decent year at Iowa State Moos wants to bring him in? FFS. They just lost to Kansas State apparently b/c of game management issues. He only won 7 games. And in 6 seasons total averages 4.8 losses a season at Toledo and Iowa State. This coach, no matter how good or how young, has done nothing to suggest he can make Nebraska a perennial 9-12 win team.
Kevin Sumlin: Ok...when Sumlin was hired by Texas A&M, he averaged 4.25 losses a season at Houston. What do they get? At Texas A&M, he then averages 4.16 losses per season. Shocking...
Dan Mullen - Dude averages 5.1 losses per season. No thanks, second coming of Mike Riley.
JUSTIN FUENTE - Ok, now my controversial commentary. The contrarian's favorite here averaged 5.75 losses per season at Memphis. Combine that with Virginia Tech and he's averaging exactly 5 losses per season. No thanks left field Justin Fuente. Take your averageness and keep it in Blacksburg where you are a hero.
This is why I want all eggs in on Frost. Dude is coming off massive success this season. Home grown. Knows Nebraska. I think his upside gives us the best chance to contend for 9-12 wins per season. We get AVERAGE with all of the candidates listed above. With Frost, we have a chance to really get the lightning in a bottle we so badly need...but then turn that into sustained success.
There is no other option.
Yeah it was a jokeYou realize that if that were to happen, the college football season would last about seven weeks in total, right?
I just hope it ends in respect. Mike wasn't a good fit for NU as a football coach but he was an excellent face for the University. I hope the fans will at least give him a standing ovation for hanging in there despite our poor record. I especially appreciate the way he handled Sam Foltz death. He did so with dignity and humility. You gotta give him credit for that and other ways he tried to unify the fan base by reaching out to former players, traveling around the state and reaching out to the fans, etc. He was a refreshing change from the drama of the previous coaching staff. GBR!

Name someone else on that board averaging less than 4 losses. And nice try exploiting a small sample size.Frost averages 3.5 losses per season. Do not want! May have well as kept Pelini.
So basically an Orlando reporter trying to say something negative in the hopes that Scott changes his mind?IIRC, Josh said Matt Reynoldson of HuskerOnline reported that Frost’s parents were contacted via a phone call, but the reporter took it upon himself to make it sound worse. At least that’s the impression I got from everything.
I'd like to agree, but the biggest problem is Diaco's scheme. The Hawkeye offense is going to road grade through our front 7 like powdery Christmas morning snow.I hope so, too, and i really think it will. I know we dont like the results on the field and we do need to cut ties, but let's make it as civil and painless on him as possible. He is a human being who represented N very well.
He had a 12-0 regular season at ball state. And i know he didn't work out, that was my point. Stop using win/loss percentages to define entire coahing tenures and use your eyes.I suggest you fact check b/c Hoke never led an undefeated season at a mid major. in fact in 8 seasons at mid major level, he averaged 6.25 losses per season. Wonder why he never worked out...
My point is the back up option is no better than randomly drawing from a hat of names.
Besides MR not winning games - he has done nothing to harm NU or the image. There is a chance (25%) that he stays in Lincoln and helps in some way.
Just trying to keep this one going. If we're willing to pay any amount, let's get Jimbo Fisher.
12-1. Plus he went directly to another mid major before and went back to his average ways before Michigan thought something different would happen. He had a 12-0 regular season at ball state. And i know he didn't work out, that was my point. Stop using win/loss percentages to define entire coahing tenures and use your eyes.
No clue...flew right over my head I guess...Very well played.

We might complete some passes, but as we found out earlier, if we can't stop the other team, we literally have no chance.
As some others have mentioned, Frost would be huge for this program, but what we really need is someone to make the Blackshirts into a formidable defense. THEN we can start competing for the B1G
What has he done before or after Jameis? If we're willing to pay any amount, let's get Jimbo Fisher.
