Optimism will always be his forte and that's something we will surely miss around these parts. Even when he lost his cool it was out of passion. Without further ado...
Dearly beloved,
I’ve decided to write you one last time, as my days have come to an end. As a fairly young Husker fan, I didn't always know my fandom could bring me so much passion. Ive grown to love this program over time. I can tell you that my involvement in this community has been a huge reason for this development.
I want to tell you all that I never meant to hurt or harm anyone. In reflection, I can admit that sometimes I’ve forgotten that posters are people too and I haven’t treated them as they’ve deserved. I also realize I broke some rules along the way, and I don’t really have a reason why, but I am sorry. It’s obviously a knock on my character and who I am as a person, which needs improvement.
I was never here for me, I was always here to be a part of something. Yes, I love attention, but it wasn’t necessarily about me. My goal was always to bring something out of everyone else at HB, whether it was joy, laughter, passion, conversation, love for the program, etc. Yes, there were a few times I got lost along the way and my passion boiled into anger, but we’ve been through some dark days. Personally, for me, it’s a shame I won’t be able to enjoy the Frost era with you here. These past 4+ years as a poster have been some of my best. So many changes in my life over this time, and I’ve gotten to share some of it here with you all.
Huskerboard has been a ritual for 4+ years and it’s going to be strange not coming and sharing news or receiving anymore. Besides spending time with family and close friends, coming onto Huskerboard was the one of the best parts of my day. I will miss it dearly. I’ve never felt like I mattered more anywhere, than I did here and for that, I’m extremely grateful.
Just a few more notes and I’ll move along:
To Mavric, every superhero needs their villain. Thank you for being such for a couple years. I’m glad I was able to spend my final months at peace with you.
To TeachCD, man, I loved the updates and learning some cool hot party spots from you. Someday, we’re going to party like it’s 1999.
To GSG, thanks for introducing me to CAPSLOCKFRIDAY.
To Moiraine, I seriously love you and my wife says I can have a Hall Pass if you give the green light.
To all the regulars, thanks for putting up with me these last years, I’ve learned a lot from you all and I am thankful for that.
To HuskerLaw, I still haven’t finished reading your first post.
To StPaulHusker, You’re a real piece of work. No offense.
To Toe, I hope you stub yourself going up the stairs.
To all the constant Darnay Holmes reminderers, that really hurt me.
To CoachHort, I never coached football beyond the Middle School level. Feel like you should be the first to know.
To CoachPowerT, sorry for being a d!(k, I missed you around here, kind of.
To all the private message senders over the years, thanks for the kind words, except for the guy who told me to eat him.
Lastly To Redux, the Robin to my Batman. What a sidekick you’ve been for all these years. You’ve always done your damndest to try and keep this from happening, but I screwed up one too many times.
I know it in my heart that this thing is heading in the right direction. Just like Coach Frost, maybe someday I can come back home.
