Eichorst wanted to hire a coach as quickly as possible so he could put the Athletics Department back on autopilot before the Christmas party circuit was in full swing last year. He also has his eyes set on being the Wisconsin AD when Alvarez retires, so he's just marking time here...and Perleman is okay with that, so I believe nothing gets better until he Perleman leaves.

If I were to guess, my first two guesses are 1) incompetence and 2) he is everything that Bo said he was.

Most likely, because Harv is just smart enough and weasely enough to not be quite that transparent. It's not rocket science.

Of course, Bo (and Osborne) were right. The guy is a tool, and he is the reason we are were are (and will be for awhile). Not only has he destroyed the football program, but he had made it hard to correct his error. Beyond the hits to recruiting, getting a new coach, media perception, among other things, the financial burden of repairing the situation will be enormous. We will have two staffs on payroll, while we have to pay a new staff top dollar to come here.

And why is this not a good thread? He the source of almost everything that has gone wrong. This is exactly what we should be complaining about, and make sure he is let go.

Perlman is months away from retirement. He isn't going to make any moves. And no donors will be able to force his hand. What would they do fire him? He's already gone.

You have to extend the coach, common protocol. If you don't it will kill recruiting.

Actually, this is ALL on Harvey. Pederhorst is his hand picked guy. Shawn did the job Harvey brought him in to do.
