This would be my guess as well, that or the whole thing shines...

On second look, the upper definitely has the matte kinda finish like 3M material used on running shoes and such, and stripes are a lil did so could be them that shine?

That low version will mostly be worn by the skills players. I'm guessing they are like 3M reflectors. I look forward to seeing Kenny or Jamal scooting down the sideline with their feet shining. Will be a cool look.

I wonder if the players all like the idea of getting new shoes for the game. Things like shoes can be a very personal taste for a player. The last thing I'd want to worry about the week before a game is having to break in new gear all over again.

I am pretty sure they get new shoes throughout the season.

My guess is they are stealth technology, and make the player wearing them invisible. Which could be a good or bad thing.
