Shut down the Callahan thread?

There are pockets of discussion here and there, but by and large it seems to be causing more trouble than it is worth.

What do you guys think?

I handed out a few warnings for personal attacks but there has been plenty of borderline. OTOH there isn't anything inherently lock-worthy about the thread topic.

Haven't read every post, but sounds to me like a lock is needed. Sometimes topics simply engender too much ill will. In those cases, it's probably best to either close it or move it to the Woodshed.

Does anyone think it's possible that the bevy of new, bizarre threads have been started lately in an attempt to make HuskerBoard look like a place of odd ideas? We used to get a few weird threads here and there, but nothing like this. And a lot of them are the same. And they don't come from the same guy. And they don't seem to serve any purpose other than to be... weird.

Maybe I'm just paranoid. Or maybe someone has decided that it would be beneficial to them to make HuskerBoard look silly. Some of these threads certainly seem to do just that.
