It won't be great, but Newby was the more important get because of the current need (or at least uncertainty) at LB. We are two deep on the D-line (that's for everyone to contributes to the TOOCQT in the Woodshed)

Perhaps not the worst thing. He was going to be pretty late for this year so a red-shirt was likely. Assuming he gets here in January, he'll get spring ball and (I believe) could still red shirt next year if needed.

 
Bummer. I just feel like we need to be deeper at DL than any other position due to all of the injuries and defections that seem to occur there. And the importance of the position itself.I just hope we get Mixon here in January. I was really impressed by his film. I still hope we try to land 2 more DL recruits than we were originally planning on however. And we haven't exactly been world beaters staying in the mix with big time DLman this year.

 
Current rumor is that he is not enrolling at NU, and he will enroll in the Spring to play for TAMU and gray shirt next year.

This is rumor from an A&M board, so take it with a grain of salt.
