SIGNED - RB Devine Ozigbo

Welcome to Nebraska Ozigbo! I agree we need to change our expectations of our backs, we're going to need your prototypical NFL type back to work in this offense.

His 4.7 was a sparq verified time which means is is a legit time. Means he ran it at a camp. So that would be like a typical high school kid posting a 4.5 40. He looks to have pretty good speed for a big guy. Has food power through arm tackles but will learn how to finish runs. Solid prospect and considerably different from recent targets
Agreed. That is pretty impressive for a 230 lb high school kid.

Good luck to the young man. I don't follow recruiting much or individual players. I am sure Riley will utilize multiple backs in his offense, and we could always use depth with quality backs.

Nebraska's new coaching staff is aggressive in recruiting. Case in point: Newest #huskers RB commit Devine Ozigbo. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/recruiting-three-star-running-back-devine-ozigbo-commits-to-nebraska/article_85c6398a-9858-11e4-8189-2b543bf781ac.html

NU coaches offered the running back in the morning. They told him they’d offer two more running backs they liked at 9 if Ozigbo wasn’t completely ready to switch his commitment from Iowa State to the Huskers. Nebraska’s newest commit needed only until 4. He’d take the spot. He announced it on Twitter. And he got ready to help the Huskers finish out their recruiting class by late evening.
Wow. Coaches ain't messing around. More nuggets:

Iowa State coaches were disappointed, Ozigbo said, in part because he’d been one of the key peer recruiters for the class.
When he learned that Pelini was, in part, dismissed for not winning enough games and not winning conference titles, he wasn’t turned off. He was intrigued.

OV the 23rd.

Havnt watched his film so can't comment on his on field play. But his view about firing of Bo from the OWH quotes is just a great way to look at the whole situation. Seems very mature for a 18 year old.

Very interesting on the aggressive tactics from the staff. For some recruits, that kind of aggressiveness can be what makes you flip or it can be a giant turn off. Hopefully the staff uses it selectively in the future.

As for Ozigbo, welcome aboard.

Aggressive recruiting but don't we have to be right now. We are replacing a decommitt and we have about 3 weeks til signing day. It is not like we beat out a program we compete with for recruits. We beat out Iowa st. It will be interesting to see if we keep up aggressively recruiting.

Im guessing they are being a lil more aggressive than normal b/c of short time they have to get in who they want.

I disagree. We gotta be agressive right now. If we gave Devine-Ozigbo a week to think about it then he decided no. Those other two kids could have their OV's scheduled by then and we'd be screwed. I highly doubt it's a tactic that will be used regularly months before NSD. But right now, we need to be agressive.
