Yeah, that same periscope said that Mosley lost his scholarship which is why he left, so I wouldn't take those words to the bank.
Maybe he didn't but the writing was on the wall. He might not have lost it but was "encouraged" to move on.KJJ will be N. As for Gebbia, Ole Miss bothers me.

Need Tommy to have a great year, stranding POB on the bench. I worry if Tommy struggles and POB takes the starting job and succeeds somewhat then that may scare off Gebbia. He could see the writing on the wall of sitting for 3 years.
POB would need a killer season to be enough to scare Gebbia off, I think. Besides, if O'Brien can come in and play well right away, that means that we're pretty well set at QB, and Gebbia could redshirt and (if he's not good enough to unseat POB as the starter) still have 2 seasons of eligibility after O'Brien graduates.
If POB is playing that well, does it really matter if we land Gebbia? It would be nice, but certainly not a position of need at that point.
Yes it matters. We need quality back ups to push our starter and we need to have people developing at all times. Absolutely it's important.

Yes, it takes one hit. Would you rather have another 4 star back up or a walk on because we are set at having a starter

He is the lynchpin. Getting his team mate this year has to help our chances though in landing him and maybe his buddies.

Let me pose a question instead: Would you rather have POB play well enough to start this season, or Gebbia sign with the Huskers next spring?

I'd rather have POB be a superstar, but that has no bearing on wanting to secure top QBs every class if we can. If POB doesn't redshirt this year -- definitely a possibility so that he gets his feet wet and we have Jr/Sr + So as competitors next year, then a '17 recruit who redshirts has plenty of distance between him and either of the other guys. As far as eligibility goes.

I'd rather get all the best QBs they can find on campus, and let the competition sort itself out.

Both. I mean, why not?

You should recruit the best talent every year, at every position, no matter what kind of depth you might think you have on the roster.

Some seem to think that Gebbia might not look at NU because of POB. A lot of these guys that are extremely talented, are also extremely confident. They believe they can walk on campus and win the job day one. A perfect, recent example of this was POB committing even with the Wilson kid for Oklahoma already on board. It's a great mindset to have, and one that we should want the guys on the team to have.

Completely agree. IMO it is important to bring in at least 1 quality QB prospect each year. You just never know how each player will turn out and what injuries will need to be accounted for. Need to have quality depth. Good prospects commit to schools with lots of talent on the roster at their position all the time; just because you think you have a potential home run on the roster now, it shouldn't preclude you from trying to bring in another potential home run in right behind him.
