Skin Testing - Changelog

I'll go ahead and commit those changes now. Few things:

1. I reverted the bold on the links in the menu bar.
Looks fine that way. Actually, either way is fine with me. The separators help for the non-bolded version, particularly, IMO.

2. Keeping both Active and My Content for now, but moving them next to each other.
Works for me. The only reason to remove them is if a member has a really low resolution and the links took up too much horizontal space. I dobut that would happen, though. Keep 'em all - let's give the members all those options.

3. I put the original search button back, and made it a dark background again.
MUCH better.

4. Oops, forgot about this! It's now a dark gray. There seems to be one other variation of the secondary bar (aside from the one appearing under polls), but I forget what it is/where it went. Can anyone find that? We may need to change that style definition to make it consistent, but I'm just not sure where it is anymore. I saw it once though.
Again, much better. As for the secondary bar, it's in ipb_styles.css, about line 215. However, the value there is the same as for the secondary bar in the polls now.

5. Changed the member bar so that if the user is not signed it, it says "Welcome, Guest!" Another thought was that we could have the sign in form here, so you don't have to click a link to sign in. Wonder if the duplication of links would be OK though ('sign in' and 'register' are links on the red bar below the main navigation already)
I'd leave out the sign in form there. I think it would confuse folks, IMO.

6. Members can't access QBTest anymore. Mods/Admins should still see it in the drop down, for now.
Holy crap! I can't believe I did that! I'm going to plead...something. Brain fart. Cosmic rays. Thanks for catching that.

I took off cacti's banner temporarily, to make it easier to commit changes to QBL/QBLive. I'll throw up a demo of that afterwards, also work on the pink that appears in the Articles section. It seems there's some unused stuff under "Categories" on the sidebar of that page too: http://www.huskerboa...rganization-r9. These changes are isolated to ipcontent.css, so these changes can be committed independent of any logo image testing.
Sounds good.

Also I'm starting to wonder if the thread marker icons only (not the former icons) from the old skin, aren't better than the entire set we have in the new one. What does everyone else think?
I'd let that go for now, at least. I don't recall seeing any members complain about the current set now that we've rolled it out. Let's see if we get any complaints, and how many.

zoogies, thanks for all your efforts on this. It's greatly appreciated!

Just a heads up. I've created an IP Board Block to start displaying the HuskerNation.com banner rather than having the HTML in the template. My thought was that it makes it VERY easy to change the banner should the need arise. And, if we can locate a good ad banner script, it'll be easy to change the block code to use the script.

The change is in the globalTemplate template. The code that replaces the HTML is:

Code:
{parse block="top_banner_ad"}

Two things I'd like to keep on "the list" are:

Links are no longer very visible (at least not to me) because they're blue, which blends with the black. Maybe that's just a me problem.

Making the Report Center turn red when there's a report. It's just white right now and it's harder to see than before.

Lance, which links are those? The report center is already red on QBTest. I think once the logo gets finalized we can make all those changes at once.

What would be a better color for you? Or would you prefer that all those links that are blue also be underlined? Or both (color change and underlined all the time)? We can easily make those changes to the QBL skin. Just let us know what works best for you.

As for the Activity Center, the last active report turned red for me, but I think that happened on the QB Live skin. zoogies, is it possible that the change was applied to the QB Live skin only?

AR, I changed some of the changes you made to #logo. The image doesn't really fit if the DIV is exactly the size of the image. It's more like the DIV is a general (sort of arbitrarily sized, but large enough) container, with the logo image as its background, positioned so that the image is on the bottom edge of the container rather than in the middle. Before, the right side of the USA outline was cut off and the image was riding a little high.

Still not sure, what happened with the links.

Something odd is going on - not just with the link. I set up the logo for QBL, and now the left and right of each page is white. The background setting in the ipb_styles_css is set to show a solid red (#e4191f), but only the logo area is showing. It's almost as if something is overriding the settings. I'm beginning to wonder if something is corrupting the skins.

If you get a chance, would you take a look at the QBL skin to see what I mean, and see if you have any ideas? Thanks.

And thanks for the changes to the logo section on QB Live - I was trying to slap it up there in a hurry, and got interrupted to the point that I couldn't really refine it before I had to log out. Thanks.

If you notice in Link 1, the banner is gone, too. And the clock isn't working.

EDIT - and Link 2 shows what I see on the ESPN scoreboard thing. That issue has never resolved, but it's not a big deal.
