There have been several different Batman and Spiderman franchises in the last 30 years, some good and some bad. Not sure if those would count as remakes, but probably.

They should remake Highlander. That was a great 80s movie that does not translate well to modern day.

There are some. The Lindsay Lohan The Parent Trap is great, and honestly beyond stunning with its cinematography in a way it has no business being. Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio was excellent. Ocean's 11, Dune, True Grit, The Departed, Scarface, The Wizard of Oz and others could all easily be classified as remakes.

The problem is none of the movies Hollywood remake were bad movies. Who was asking for a remake of Snow White? No one. Who was asking for a remake of the Lion King? No one. Who was asking for a remake of Overboard? No one. Get the picture? They never remake bad movies; only classics.

 
Although it was a kick-a$$ Alternative grunge TV show, Jump Street was very hilarious as a movie.  Other parts of it (the unoriginal parts) - not so much.  But the actors were enjoyable.  For half of the movie, I think they did a good job and it was beyond my wildest imagination for a remake.   Something you would watch again just for laughs and hitting the hookah.   :D   :wasted
