I think we all have to handle our duties in a manner that's true to our own nature.
I know that sounds kinda "Zen-ish", but what I'm trying to say is that if we try to moderate in the manner that pleases the members we'd actually end up worse off. I, for one, can't be too touchy-feely when I warn members or move posts - if I tried, it would actually come off as more of an insult than what I would normally say.
And if you tried to post in a different manner, Dave, you'd eventaully blow and go all postal.
Just do your thing, bro. You can try toning it down for a while and see if it suits you, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it - there are some that think we should be impartial observers that simply keep the peace. Screw that - if I have an opinion, I'm going to express it. I don't understand their thinking - why should we suddenly lose interest in what drew us to the Board in the first place just because we have "Mod" under our screen name?
And what many of these people don't realize is that we read every freakin' post on this board - we don't have the option of blowing through topics. Crap builds up more quickly for us because of that - we see every "let's go black" post.
