That sounds like an excuse to me.What's the issue? Whether Bo is capable of sufficient improvement to remain the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Then what is the real issue? I would really like to know.

Never said they were, the only two outcomes, but the reality is if you look beyond what the entitled Nebraska fans delusions are, if you fire a second #9/#10 win coach, you're not going to get Nick Saban, Urb, or TO to walk in that door. No matter how much you wish for it, they're not coming, neither would Peterson, or Franklin, or Smart, etc. I thought I've made that abundantly, extremely clear, so I simply said that if you doubt the average fan, listen to a couple of guys who know a lot more football people than we do, they'll tell you the same. Just because a fan can't understand or is too thick headed to accept that notion, it doesn't mean that it's not true.Again . . . why would you conclude that those are the possible options?Go ahead and fire your #9/#10 win coach again and youd better be happy with #5 wins. Listen to the podcast, even if you refuse to believe it.Why would you conclude that those are the possible options?I'll take #9 or #10 over #5 anyday.
There's no need to appeal to authority unless, of course, you don't really have a strong argument. I don't (and you shouldn't either!) need a podcast to remind me what is plain to see.
You serious? Bo gave them perfect cover for his own firing. They just didn't seize the opportunity.Never said they were, the only two outcomes, but the reality is if you look beyond what the entitled Nebraska fans delusions are, if you fire a second #9/#10 win coach, you're not going to get Nick Saban, Urb, or TO to walk in that door. Ah, yes. There it is again. Carry on.I thought I've made that abundantly, extremely clear, so I simply said that if you doubt the average fan, listen to a couple of guys who know a lot more football people than we do, they'll tell you the same. Just because a fan can't understand or is too thick headed to accept that notion, it doesn't mean that it's not true.
I'm not sure how to simplify it any more than that, Nebraska ain't the glammor, destination job that our delusional fans think it is.
you really think psu is that much more appealing than donu?Never said they were, the only two outcomes, but the reality is if you look beyond what the entitled Nebraska fans delusions are, if you fire a second #9/#10 win coach, you're not going to get Nick Saban, Urb, or TO to walk in that door. what we lack in recruiting, we make up for in being in an easier division. but i agree with everything you said.I am amazed at their ability to recruit with the sanctions. But once those are lifted, yes I see Penn State as a better destination than Nebraska for a coach. A lot more in state kids to recruit makes it easier no question. Recruiting is what runs this sport, has been for the last ten years or so.
Perhaps, but I personally don't blame Bo for what he did. The administration left him dangling. I've heard that Harv went to a few major boosters to get backing to pay off his contract, but the boosters said no and the Regents put Harv back in his place. Besides, doesn't winning cure all? Did we not have a winning record last year? Maybe not the success we'd all like, but the season wasn't a disaster. You serious? Bo gave them perfect cover for his own firing. They just didn't seize the opportunity.
Not sure, but would he be an upgrade? Do we really want to hire another head coach without any Div 1 head coaching experience? I heard so much whining and crying about the last time we did that. Besides, 3 of our last 4 HCs didn't have any Div 1 head coaching experience. 2 of them won 70% of their games, 1 was run out of town, the other has a portion of the fan base attempting to run him out of town. The 3rd only won 80% of his games (as well as 3 MNCs) and was damn near run out of town. You really don't think that Kirby Smart would leave a coordinator position to be a head coach at a major D1 school? And then a couple sentences later you accuse someone else of being delusional?
Not sure if you can't understand that fact, or if you are just too stubborn to accept it, but either way it doesn't make those statements any less true. Just because you WANT this job to be the pinnacle job in college football doesn't mean that football coaches feel that way. Whiny and entitled indeed.Ah, yes. There it is again. Carry on.![]()
^^^^ This. When these various potential coaching "targets" are mentioned, I think it becomes clear why Pelini's job is fine.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the new standard for keeping your job at Nebraska. So long as it isn't a disaster . . . we're good.Did we not have a winning record last year? Maybe not the success we'd all like, but the season wasn't a disaster.
Listen. If you want someone else to do your thinking for you that's great. Just don't act like that makes your opinion correct. Eventually we'll learn who was right and who was wrong.I know I'll take the word of a couple of guys who at least deal with college football coaches every day over a bunch of random folks on the internet that don't have those connections.
Just pointing out the obvious that the drama queens don't want to acknowledge, that winning 9/10 games a year isn't this mitigated disaster that they want to portray it. No matter which way you slice it, winning 70% of your games is not a failure. And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the new standard for keeping your job at Nebraska. It's not my fault that you have no idea what is going on, yet you act as if you do. Par for the course, though. Maybe you should actually do some research on the past couple of coaching searches we've had, along with getting the opinions of some in the coaching business.Listen. The bolded is hilarious, since its coming from someone who parrots everything from the Bo-leavers checklist.
#9 wins![]()
Maybe the " Fan excuses" thread would be more appropriate for you to add some more nonsense to?
Can't comment on the truth, no? Look, nobody is happy with blowout losses, nobody likes not winning championships. You could at least man up and admit the fallacy of your argument.Presented without comment.
#9 wins. Such an independent thought, going way out on a limb there, bro.........Personally, I hope that the people who are thinking for you are right and that I'm wrong. I suppose that we're at least alike in that way.
Fallacy of what argument? The reason why I don't need to comment is that you're proving my point. Can't comment on the truth, no? Hey. Just listen to these two guys for a while and figure out how to think, ok?#9 wins. Such an independent thought, going way out on a limb there, bro.........Personally, I hope that the people who are thinking for you are right and that I'm wrong. I suppose that we're at least alike in that way.
