Hey, let's pull a few billion out of the defense budget and throw it at those starving kids. But that might cause 70,000 defense bureaucrats to die. Because they'd be forced to get real jobs then.

I like the way you think. I'm not sure why we're convinced that our military must be large enough to fight the entire rest of the world at once.

 
Because we as the United States are the defenders of democracy...and if you're not like us, then dammit we're going to make you be like us. If we're successful, we'll give you more freedoms than even citizens in our own country don't have.
