Here is a good article comparing the previous Nebraska and Oregon St offenses and forecasting what adaptations may occur in the Nebraska offense as a result.
In 2012 I could see that number being accurate. That was Taylor's best season by far, and he was actually pretty good about finding the open man that year. That was one of two years under Pelini with a QB hitting over 60% of their passes. Ganz in '08 being the other.I split this into its own topic; it's a really nice article and deserves to have some of its own discussion.
One thing I'm really looking forward to is engaging the WRs in the run game more with those fly sweeps. For a team that ran the ball as much as Nebraska, I'm surprised we didn't spring for this more often, especially with the personnel.
The RBs will figure into the passing game more for sure, and the TEs...well, one thing I didn't know was that TEs had 48 receptions at Nebraska in 2012. Is that a typo? And as a % of overall receptions, Oregon State 2010-2014 is at 17% while Nebraska is at 14%. The numbers aren't that different, but Oregon State obviously threw the ball a lot more frequently.
I was going to say I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even half that last year. Then I looked at the numbers last year and I'm still not surprised that it wasn't even a 3rd of that. 10 stinking times they caught the ball. That's just awful.I split this into its own topic; it's a really nice article and deserves to have some of its own discussion.

Hard to beat quick perfectly ran routes with a QB that gets the ball where it needs to be prontoa Tom Brady offense wouldn't be half bad, he dinked and dunked in several series to win the Super Bowl.......most all short stuff, marching right down the field.
you will likely see the best player out there, most of the time....wouldn't expect it to be any other way.I wonder if Stanton and fyfe continue to struggle how long it will take for the staff to give Bush a shot at the 1st string defense. I don't favor one of the qbs over the others I just want the best to play.
So, what's interesting to me about that is we'd been talking about how Beck just did not like to feature the TE in the offense and how Cethan Carter was going to break out this year under the new coaches.I was going to say I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even half that last year. Beck is still trying to figure out what a TE is.........I don't think you can draw any conclusions about Carter, positive or negative from last year. Didn't he miss a few games with an injury as well?
I think it's safe to say the position was under utilized last year. Whether or not that was by design (Beck) or based on in game decisions (Tommy) is hard to say. I can recall more than one occasion where Carter was wide open and never got a look, or where we really could have used a drag route to keep the defense honest but we forced a long pass for an incompletion.
