Jurgens working with the 1s at center. Figured that would be a move he might make towards the end of spring, rather than right now. Really seems like he may be a day 1 starter.

I mean somebody has to take reps with the first team, so if it's an open competition it might as well be the guy you hope wins the job. I'd bet they're switching C/LG up day by day, but maybe Jurgens and Hixson are truly leading for those spots.

#19 - Dismuke or Mike Williams

#44 - Garrett Nelson

#49 - Austin Hemphill (Gretna)

#79 - Darrion Daniels

#31 - Collin Miller

#12 - Katerian LeGrone

#82 - Kurt Rafdal

#33 - Jaylin Bradley
I wonder if Miller starts over Honas. I thought he would also make a good OLB...

FWIW, first-team defense during media availability:

DT - Damion Daniels

DE - Khalil Davis, Ben Stille

OLB - Alex Davis, Tyrin Ferguson

ILB - Mohamed Barry, Collin Miller

CB - Lamar Jackson (I assume Bootle but he wasn't listed in the report)

S - Marquel Dismuke, DWilliams

I am surprised Darrion isn't the one starting. Regardless, they both should be rotating at that nose position to give the other a breather. Stille has gotten a lot bigger so he should be pushing guys around more. Alex Davis needs to be that guy that gets to the QB one way or another. I can get behind this group, but the depth behind them is going to be a big part of our success this season. The days of people playing every defensive snap are almost over with offenses running 90 or so plays per game.
