Stadium Expansion

This is awesome. they were saying when they started this project that the whole outside should be done by fall and the in side should be done come the 2013 season. cant wait to see how fast this things moves during the summer. should be some exciting pics to come

Time-lapse video from atop Oldfather Hall showing current progress:

You can see the original West Stadium wall, but it's inside the facade and you can't see the whole thing anymore.

On the East Stadium there isn't a lot to see, just concrete walls and some seals. I went around and took pics of the seals a couple of years ago, and I'll post them here if anyone wants to see them. Of course the primary feature in the East Wall is the alcove, and that will be visible via the tunnel they're putting into the structure, but of course the view won't be the same.

The website above for the new basketball arena states that there are dedicated training and support facilities being buit there for Mens and Womens basketball.

Um. didn't we just build a whole new multimillion dollar training and support center for those at Hendricks? I get building home/visitor locker areas and maybe a small medical suite.. but full facilities?

Thanks for all the updates and pics guys. I can't wait to get back to Lincoln to see all the changes. They're going to be great.

No pictures of the Arena yesterday. I had a ton of errands to run and barely had time to get these pics. Maybe if I have a chance tomorrow, or if corncraze is in the area maybe he could get some.
Sorry, I won't be in Lincoln probably until the Spring Game, but I'll have plenty of photos for people then!
I was there on Friday afternoon and Saturday. I was really impressed with how fast its going and the progress on the arena. Stayed in the Holiday Inn and was up on the 14th floor looking out toward the Haymarket and could really get a good look at things. Pretty exciting time for NU.

Sadly . . .I didn't even think to take any on my phone until I saw yours. I'll probably be back down there in a week or two and will take some if I go back by the project. I did have a chance to go through the stadium and see a bunch of the stuff they have done with the meeting and weight rooms etc that I hadn't been to in a few years.

I remember being in the weight rooms as a kid with my dad and meeting a bunch of players. That place was state of the art then and was crap. I always thought it just looked like a bunch of machines and bar bells, benches etc. The cool part was watching guys bench press but it stunk and seemed old at the time even though that stuff was pretty new for the time. Now I don't know why..but I always think back to Rocky IV with the Russian. It just seems like there is some much cool stuff in their that we are using to do things and get readings, etc. Saw some of the Dline and I think Compton but I didn't see his face lifting. They've either slimmed down since last season or turned that extra weight from blubber to muscle. I thought our guys looked fat last year at times. They seem built right now. I know they changed things nutrition wise and it shows.
