Not excusing frosty by any means but trev himself even came out last year saying he was gonna help protect frost from doing too much s#!t outside of his actual job.  We dont know the full context and im not trying to create an excuse for the guy but i can easily see scenario where frosty is just inundated with request for events, taking shots/slights from previous players given their 2 cents, where he reached a point of saying F it, im not doing this s#!t off the field anymore.  Ive now seen a couple variations of that players greeting for frost when he was first hired- taylor here makes it sound like it was a heart warming gesture, ive seen others spin it as a weird event frosty had to do before he met with the players and other key stakeholders.

TLDR: Dont really care about this off the field s#!t not related to the s#!tty performance of this progrum on the field.

If we didn't suck at tackling, I wouldn't care.  But, then how can you know if you suck or not if you don't do it?  We didn't find out until it was too late in Dublin.  

Diaco's defense didn't tackle in practice or in the games....and he still gets jobs.

Problem with football is kids growing up used to tackle in practice, you get to college and it's kinda a given you know how to tackle....now, every coach thinks their a GM and runs their s#!t like it's a pro team when they are 10

It seems like Trev is closer to the group from Omaha, having spent the previous decade there. Plus, Trev has concerns about the Lincoln group, as they served as enablers/ringleaders to Frost’s transgressions.

To be frank, I don't really care about the opinions of these former players from 30 years ago. It's simply not how a successful program is run, and the things that made NU a powerhouse in the Osborne era are not necessarily what will be best for it in the modern landscape. You don't want to be the Ottoman Empire out there

Trev has the support of the biggest boosters of the program, as well as the University leadership.

Unfortunately it sounds like the cancer goes all the way to (some of) the Regents who knew of and permitted this stuff. 

Wonder if one of those cancers is actively politicking this fall...

I’ve said for years and years it’s terribly disappointing some regents still have their jobs dating back to Pearlman. The things that went on, no wonder the football program sucks.

Anyone else not care if they tackle in practice? A lot of teams don't including the entire NFL. 

They don’t need to once they have learned it. Our guys obviously haven’t learned it.

I fail to see how Trev would be on the hot seat in all of this.  He came in when Frost was already not getting the job done.  It's been stated that he wanted to fire Frost last year and didn't have the support to do so.  So, he forced Frost to make coaching changes on the staff.  When this season started as a s#!t show, he took action.

Now, it's his job to hire a good coach.  To my knowledge, the athletic program is being ran well other than the two main men's programs not winning.  And, he's taking action to fix the biggest one.
