That covers husker sportsSource is not a Husker coach, but a guy from OMAHA. This may not be true!

I reread my post and realized it may come off like Mark isn't professional. 1. My stories of him are from college. 2. Kid was loyal as hell. He picked me out of a crowd the second time I was there and we picked up like I never left. His mentality was he sold out for his teammates. Since I was my friends former teammate he sold out for me too. 3. Heart of a champion.My best friend played and roomed with Mark at SIU. Went out with Mark a few times. He taught me how to bite the top of a beer can off. Also witnessed him order (and eat) 16 mc chicken sandwiches after a night of drinking.
On a side note, he promised me a corvette if he made the pros... Wonder if this counts?
What else would you consider positive?Not sure what to think of the hire. Not really somewhere we need a splash hire, but we need someone who can develop these kids physically and mentally. The only positive I see, is him being under Ivan Lewis.
Assoc. credentials mean nothing other than I pay my dues & went to association training. Nebraska has been soft for years!What else would you consider positive?Not sure what to think of the hire. How about;
"one of 15 strength and conditioning coaches certified as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. "
And
"A certified strength and conditioning specialist and a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association"
Because that was Dobson and we all think we needed someone else, I'll defer to the people making this hire that they know what is needed more than us
Just because your certified, doesn't make you the best. Dobson was good, but I don't believe he's even close to being a top 15 S&C coach in the country. In my trade, I do better work than our certified guys. With a guy with such a little resume, it makes me second guess their call. Just like when we hired Paps and Beck in critical roles. I understand hiring people you trust, but this is a business. If there is a proven and better qualified guy open, get them. Or has our program sunk so low, it's hard to get someone like that?What else would you consider positive?Not sure what to think of the hire. My point exactly all those certifications sound positive, yet we all wanted a changeAssoc. credentials mean nothing other than I pay my dues & went to association training. I know nothing about Dobson's background, but he did not do a good job at Nebraska. In the 90s, I used to take some of the players hunting. There were some big boys. Doing the eye test, today's OL is soft and are not even close to the players of the past.My point exactly all those certifications sound positive, yet we all wanted a changeAssoc. credentials mean nothing other than I pay my dues & went to association training. Confused about first timers, as Dobson was at SMU & Iowa. Plus I have a feeling that Epply will be in control, which means finding a good young coach to replace him will be the best option.I'm just confused why we can't get Rusty Whitt or Joe Maday! Both of those guys are proven coaches and are at smaller programs! I'm tired of seeing first timers here. That's all I'm saying.
If Boyd Eppley likes him then maybe we should give him a chance.I'm just confused why we can't get Rusty Whitt or Joe Maday! Both of those guys are proven coaches and are at smaller programs! I'm tired of seeing first timers here. That's all I'm saying.
oh I'm willing to give him a chance, just like anyone else on this new staff, just gets tiring being a "training school". I don't care about splash hires, just want someone who has actual experience and has a resume. Like the two I named above. They are at smaller schools, no reason why we can't entice them to come here. I'm not upset about the hire, moreso scratching my head about it.If Boyd Eppley likes him then maybe we should give him a chance.I'm just confused why we can't get Rusty Whitt or Joe Maday!
