Tangent Thread - 2018 Edition

Removing the teams from the sentence reading, "TB and the Wolverines outplayed EG and the Buckeyes," results in a new sentence reading, "TB outplayed EG."  If that game had an MVP award, TB would have been more likely to get it than EG.  TFraz never had a game his senior year in which you could've said the same.  That's my point.

I don't care that you shared your opinion.  I objected to how you shared it...by defending what was a troll post from Landlord and patronizing me.  When he wrote that what I shared had nothing to do with the Heisman at all, it felt like he was calling me stupid.  When he asked if I realized that offensive players didn't line up against other offensive players, that cinched it.  You judged my reaction to that post but have yet to acknowledge he was out of line, despite having played board police where my behavior's concerned.  Landlord explained himself but you have yet to take a smidgen of responsibility for anything and that's fine but don't give me the babe in the woods routine.

You sure seem hellbent on reading intent that doesn't exist. You're the one not taking a smidgen of responsibility for concocting your own personally ensconced and offended interpretation of what I and then Moiraine said. Sorry you felt patronized as I didn't intend that or think anything like that in responding to you. But if you keep believing that you're being insulted, I imagine you'll start to more and more feel like you're being patronized.

It’s not relevant to me what the wording is. An opponent’s offensive player outplaying Eddie George shouldn’t impact whether he wins the Heisman unless he’s vying for the Heisman against that player.

Landlord wasn’t out of line, and I wasn’t attempting to patronize you. As I said before, you overreacted, and it was to something that wasn’t there. 

The only part of your initial reaction I judged was bringing up something from months ago which had nothing to do with the topic and which Landlord didn’t even remember your involvement in.

I can't read intent but your first post was still rude, Landlord, whether you intended it to be or not.  I allowed that you might not have meant it to come off that way but I think it's obvious that it read that way.

I got a warning message from a mod today that indicated part of the reason for it was I admitted to having done something that's against the rules so this idea I've taken no responsibility for any of the fun we've been having to start the week is as ridiculous as Moiraine lecturing me about something I post on more than anything else here.

If you guys want the last word, go on and keep responding to my responses.  I don't think we have to see anyone else's point to let it all drop.  Surely we're ready so I'll start and disappear from this thread.

I don’t pay enough attention to individual posters (my memory’s not great) to know that you regularly post about how well running backs performed against other running backs.

You’ve now called my post patronizing and ridiculous. You should join the Woodshed.

It's not too hard to figure out how to edit, but even if you can't, there are better ways of asking for help than just starting a new thread and then another new thread and then another new thread.

There is absolutely nothing 'tangent' about this. It was perfectly on topic.

 
All in all, it's more preferable to have that kind of stuff come from a mod/admin as it tends to lead to less problems. People are more willing to listen to us and react less negatively than if another board members calls them out for something.

And that's not just exclusive to Roxy. We prefer people use the Report function in situations like these.
