Tangent Thread - Lifetime Edition

What if Purdy comes in and 'identifies' as a starting qb?  Do we have to then honor their identity?  It's a weird world we live in.
I hope he does identify as a starting QB. We need more players acting like and identifying as starters. If they end up not the starter and can’t get beyond what they “identify” as, there’s always the portal.

Hey, f#&% isn't censored!

Oh, damn you and your wizard tricks!

We talked about this trick a while ago. What we see when we create a post in this box is WYSIWYG, but it's all backed up by code. You just trick the code by using a modifier. @GSG italicized a letter. I just changed one letter's font. That inserts a modifier inside the word and breaks the filter.

Sure, they could spend time trying to filter out all the letter/code combos, but nobody cares enough to do that.

As @Enhance requested those months ago when we talked about this, please don't use this trick outside the Shed. The Mods have enough trouble keeping that "roughingthepasser" spammer off the boards. They don't need us using potty-mouth words in public, too.

Speaking of that turd, they are apparently spamming the entire internet:

Is there really a function that requires a certain # of posts before creating a thread? Cuz we need that s#!t

I'm not sure. I believe so, like when they had the rule of minimum 250 posts to post in P&R, but I'm not sure if that was a setting or manually enforced.

I'm fairly certain there's a board function that prevents posters with fewer than X amount of posts from being able to start threads. knapplc's right that we have that in place for P&R (at least, I think it's still in place... I can't see that in my moderator tools, so I'm assuming only admins can see that setting).

Generally speaking, new poster s#!tposting is uncommon, so I don't think there has been an overwhelming appetite to try and fix something that (again, generally speaking) has been a relatively minor issue.

Although, I am surprised by the volume of spammer nonsense that it's made it's way onto the board in recent weeks.

The whole internet has been crazy the past few weeks. Extra crazy.

We should hold off on policy decisions for a while. Let all the dust settle.
