Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

Without some miraculous medical development, I'd be curious how any of the 11 "no" Presidents change course.

Since the "no" votes two different rapid result tests have been approved by the FDA that opens the door to saying "look at these developments." Supposedly, the call with the President was about testing which you could assume would include the 150 million rapid tests they bought recently.

People, come on. There is ZERO track record of the president being dishonest or not following through on promises. And he has NEVER just told people what they wanted to hear when it wasn't true.

LOOKS LIKE WE WILL HAVE FOOTBALL!!!1!
Maybe Trump is using the SIr Yacht account as a burner account!

My first reaction to this was, if I were a University President and I truly thought I was doing the right thing for the University and the student body by not having football until a vaccine is developed, I would tell Trump to F off.

What could he have possibly said that makes Warren or anyone all of a sudden..."OH MY GOD..He's right...we should play"?

That fact that as of right now other conferences are playing and didn't fall in line like the Big Ten hoped.   I guess that is really the only thing I can think of.  Like you said, nothing else really change medically.

So Trump finally did something possibly worthwhile in the eleventh hour? Congrats?

I hate to say it but it is a no lose deal for Trump. Like ColoHusk said, if the B1G changes it's mind, we get football and Trump gets credit from some people. If not, he can make points with those same people about the deep state and liberal conspiracies. But anybody who has more than that 2nd grade education and has been paying attention will still realize, if he had not downplayed the pandemic and provided some leadership and support for everyone wearing masks when he should have, the season wouldn't have been cancelled/postponed in the first place.

Did he do the same thing with the Pac 12 commissioner?

If not, this was nothing more than a political stunt to gain votes in swing states.

But....I guess we could get football out of it.
