Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

Are you seriously trying to act like Trump?

And, I didn’t know Frost coaches basketball.
Hmm...glad to know you're ok with Warren's "transparency" and leadership. And, if you can't extrapolate leadership styles and deficiencies across multiple  sports platforms, then I guess it's more understandable why you'd attempt to muddy up a sports analogy with a lame political jab.

I have also seen the interviews with medical professionals claiming masks aren't effective, but there are very few of them and the "professionals" have typically been discredited by all available evidence.  Some, of course, are paid shills, with a paid axe to grind. I'm not sure you actually read the cdc link you provided.

The medical community has always been pretty unanimous about this -- including their early mistake.  The only reason to insist masks aren't useful or needed is because you are balls deep in partisan conspiracy theory.

I did read through the article I linked to and while it's a small sample size it shows evidence that mask use isn't effective in stopping the spread.  The covid particles/spores are small enough to pass through most fabric masks that people regularly use.

The ruling class elites such as Pelosi, Feinstein, Chris Cuomo, the troll who delivered what might be the worst first pitch in MLB history etc, all preach to their subjects about wearing masks but they get caught not wearing masks when they think that they are off camera.

Covid positivity rates have been high places with mask mandates and they are reportedly on the rise again in the US and Europe even with all the steps they've taken to combat this virus, so the numbers tell a different tale.

Luckily enough for you, we do!

I can't name such a person in the US and it appears that you can't either which is a shame.

If we had the "world's most foremost immunologist" I think that the President would have asked that doctor to be a key member of the covid task force he put together back in late January.

We haven't had one of those in almost 4 years.

Have to go back much further than 4 years to find that guy, like back to the 80's.

You've had two weeks, and this is the only response you can come up with?

The guy who paints himself orange and claimed this would all blow over by April? The guy who said to drink bleach?  The guy who pimped hydroxychloroquine & then didn't take it himself? The guy who just said "We're not going to try to stop it anymore" after a quarter million American deaths?

Maybe you shouldn't be paying attention to anything that particular guy says.

Interestingly enough, you're wrong in almost every way that matters.

COVID rates have been lower in places with mask mandates, and higher in places without them. The summer surges are easily tracked to states that opened wide and opened early. The return of COVID rates in Europe are also easily tracked to COVID-fatigue and summer party season. Localized spikes are easily traced to big frat parties, clandestine weddings, restaurant and bar re-openings, Sturgis, etc.

By and large, Dr. Fauci has been factually correct far more than the actual ruling elite -- your President.

This doesn't have to be a partisan issue. But as long as I have you here, it's pretty irrefutable that Red states are fueling the surge more significantly more than Blue states.

My life doesn’t revolve around message boards.

I’ll patiently wait for your prompt response.

Maybe you should get your “news” from sources other than late night talk show hosts and MSNBC.  I have no interest discussing dishonest narratives.

Interestingly enough, you’re arguing against things I never said or insinuated.

To simplify 1) many front line medical professionals and researchers say that masks are not effective to stop the spread of this virus,  2) places with mask mandates are seeing a rise in Covid positivity rates, and 3) people who say they regularly or always wear masks in public catch Covid.

By and large, back in February Fauci was the guy who said that this virus would never be a major issue for the US, told us to go about our lives, go on cruises, go to the gym. After the outbreak in the US, he said it was ok to participate in random hookups but he won’t say that attending riots can spread this virus. He was the one who told us to not to wear masks then told us to wear them, yet himself doesn't wear masks when he thinks he off camera.

Trump’s biggest mistake in dealing with this virus might have been taking advice from this bureaucrat and shaping policy around his advice.
