Now I know he's only a 3 star (little poke @Dr. Strangelove cause he hates 3* recruiting) but 40 D1 offers.. Is there an expectation of a earning 4th star? Seems there was some hype around this kid both locally and nationally. Someone above (or maybe some journalist) stated he's body ready more than most freshmen TE prospects which kind of shocked me as I've always thought soft hands and quick feet were essential TE attributes more so than height/weight ratio. How wrong am I?
I don't hate 3* players.

It's not a good strategy to have your recruiting class be 3/4ths of them.

Love how we gets the +6’4/230lb TE’s

These types of players are a point of emphasis of this staff.  I’d like to see Fidone and the kid from Texass plus the N boy do some stuff this yr and next before we anoint the new next best….

I think we need to see some real production from these amazing talents at TE show some production then I’ll believe they will be integral.
The coaches are selling it, the recruits are buying it, and I hope we see some awesome production.

Here is an example why Rhule may not get top 10 classes. I can see top 15. He seems to like diamonds in the rough and wants to get the best possible talent out of the state of Nebraska, which tend to be three stars. Plus finding unknowns in camps he believes are talented enough. These of course are players Rhule believes can potentially develop into great players. So with Rhule I believe he will always have a mixture of three stars and four stars with once-in-while five stars. This is not a bad thing at all. I just hope these future players jell together and create some great teams. My opinion, not facts.

Edit: I wouldn’t say this prospect is a diamond-in-the- rough with all those big-time offers. So why he is a three-star I don’t know except being in a small populated area.

Edit: A better example is German OT David Hoffken, who recently committed. I wonder if he is a preferred walk-on. But regardless, looking at a video of him at a camp, he looks extremely athletic. Very raw of course as he apparently hasn’t played football for about two years. But he impressed Rhule at a camp.
