I question if he would do well at TE. 6'8 is almost too tall. Going to have a tough time getting any separation.
He is bigger than some of the OT prospects that we've looked at so maybe down the line.. It's just an interesting position going forward with McGriff, possibly Legrone who is a bigger body, then the other guys on the roster already too that have years left like Rafdal, Allen and others.  Not to mention Jurgens is still up in the air. There is no shortage of height in the TE and receiver room though now especially if Swinson is N.

Again this staff seems to be going after versatile players. Swinson isn't much different. He could be a huge redzone target. I do think he's athletic enough to get separation and he definitely can go up and get the ball. He does have the potential to grow into a lineman as well who in which case would have some exceptional athleticism to do great things up front.

I doubt they are recruiting Swinson to be a TE. Watch his film. Dude is SLOW. Runs a 5 flat 40. By comparison Fant runs a 4.64, and Stoll runs a 4.68. Gotta be recruiting him for line.

He's got good hands and a pretty big catch radius.  There have been tight ends that have been just as slow that have caught passes against our defense in the past.  Plus this offense helps out  because the RPO.  Defenses will guess wrong and he will be open without having to be blazing fast.  Or...... he is being recruited for the line lol

I like this post - if I can add a couple things: he is also not being recruited for safety, CB, RB and QB - that should about cover it.....

Your point is correct - TE need hands and one other thing (could be: height, speed, strengthen) you can always find away to make that a mismatch.

Man, Nebraska is gonna have more height on the football team than the basketball team here pretty soon.  Hard not to visualize some type of 'giant' package in the red zone with McGriff, Rafdal, this guy and others and running route concepts similar to what Seattle does for Jimmy Graham.

Nate Clouse going Nebraska, everyone else on Missouri.
Imagine if this kid ended up with Nebraska.

Clouse could proclaim his sources are right and beat that drum for a while. He would then probably say we are getting Micah Parsons and use that his "same sources" said we were getting Messiah. Or something to that effect.

It would be nice to have this kid, but it appears we have too many TE's on this roster at the moment to either make room or interest him in early playing time. Well, that and Clouse says we are getting him.

I thought I heard Callahan say this morning on KFAB that he wouldn’t be surprised if this kid signed a LOI today.

I could be mistaken.  It’s hard to drive, text and listen to the radio.
