Years ago, I read a book where the guy who wrote it, many times would be sitting around with his teenage kids and their friends.  If they start talking about something new they really like, he would then research it.  If it's publicly traded, he'd buy.

When you mentioned it, I had eaten at one on our big trip over the holidays.  They aren't in Nebraska yet.  But, I liked it.

Yeah, my then 15 year old and his gaming buddies were talking about the new AMD chips that were starting to get hyped. We indulged him by buying a few AMD shares in his name. He chose when to get out and cleared about $2,000.

Curious though, why are some of you so against trading stocks?  Just bad experiences or do you feel that it is a fools game or what?
