Nebraska is ranked in the top five all of the college baseball polls this week and will look to extend its streak of Big 12 series wins to 12 in a row. In that game, Jon Klausing took a no-hitter into the seventh, while Brandon Buckman drove in four runs, including a two-run double in the first, to pace NU’s offensive attack.
Texas Tech (27-17-1, 6-10-1 Big 12) comes to town looking to bounce back after being swept by Oklahoma at home last weekend. The Red Raiders posted a midweek win over New Mexico on Tuesday and bring the Big 12’s top hitting club to town, hitting .324 as a squad. The Huskers will challenge with the league’s top pitching staff, boasting a 2.94 team ERA, and an offense which is third in the league with a .322 average.
Haymarket Park will be busy over the weekend, as both the Husker baseball and softball teams are in action in Big 12 series. The Husker softball team hosts nationally ranked Texas A&M for a two-game weekend series.
