The hit that Kenny Bell delivered was unnecessary. Plain and simple.

Flag. 15 yards. Points erased.

Carry on.

You know that Kenny Bell block in the MSU game does look like it should have been a no call. That is my first time seeing it. I didn't even realize until after the game that the pick six had been called back and negated...I guess that does explain why we kept it close after I thought game over.
I'm just making an observation about the Bell hit in the conference championship game and the hit on Bell in the Michigan State game. Apparently at least one moderator agrees with my take on the Michigan State hit...

Kenny Bell could have easily prevented the guy from tackling Turner without delivering an unnecessary hit. That's all.

And HuskerNationNick...you post an average of 14.8 times per day...not hatin' just sayin'...

My opinion is no more valid than anybody else's, but I still fail to see how exactly Kenny Bell could have 'easily' prevented the tackle without stepping in to make a block. Take it for what it's worth.

That's the thing...he didn't just "block" the guy...he head hunted and made helmet-to-helmet contact with Smith before his shoulder plowed into Smith's chest.

Watch the replay from the endzone angle...Smith's head moves sharply to the left BEFORE it goes forward from the impact of the shoulder to the chest.

Unnecessary roughness. Offense #80. 15 yards from the spot of the foul. First down.

Good call, ref.

And what is Ben Cotton celebrating on that play with his one finger up in the air?

I guess he didn't have enough fingers and toes to indicate the points differential in the game at that point being that it made the game 49-16.

He was celebrating the TD by Turner, quit being so darn negative! That game is over, move on.................

Might be the one of the best blocks I've ever seen! Chest high, no helmet contact, just PERFECT!!!

You could quite possibly be thee worst poster on the board.

If you think this was a penalty you don't support the troops.

How? By yelling "STOP IT OR ELSE"?

IF he would have tried to hit him instead of just running into him, there could/would have been some serious hurt put on that boy.

Actually, he lowered his shoulder into his chest. The whiplash effect is what makes it look bad. Should have been paying attention to his surroundings. Move on. Nothing to see hear.

If I could find a way to post the still frame picture that Kenny posted on my Facebook wall that proves no Helmet to helmet contact was initially made I would. Pitiful call. Borland's hit was thuggatry at its finest.
