The way NU has played the final 4 games of the season and the effort put out yesterday. If you were a recruit this year or next, be it offense or defense, how could you think a putting NU in your top 3?
having a top 10 draft pick 2 years in a row helps.. so does the margin of each of the losses. Fan passion also helps some.. hopefully recruits also realize that a lot of the struggles were offensive problems and if/when a coaching change happens, they can see that with a slightly better offense, and our D that we have a chance to do something great..The way NU has played the final 4 games of the season and the effort put out yesterday. Other recruiters will use this season against NU, I just hope through guidance they can see Bo trying to build a program back to the top.......being consistent should help, along with some "O" staff being replaced, IMO.having a top 10 draft pick 2 years in a row helps.. so does the margin of each of the losses. when a 10 win season that barely missed a BCS berth is considered a "bad" season, you know it's a good program. also defensive recruits know that they will play for the best defensive coaches in the nation, who happen to have a history of producing top draft picks. offensive recruits know they will get the chance to compete for playing time and that a championship level defense is already in place to help them win titles if they can get the offense going.Other recruiters will use this season against NU, I just hope through guidance they can see Bo trying to build a program back to the top.......being consistent should help, along with some "O" staff being replaced, IMO.having a top 10 draft pick 2 years in a row helps.. so does the margin of each of the losses. that's dumb. did the missouri game matter? kansas state? okie state? TO made a statement once to the effect that the "big games" are the ones you lose. pretty much echos your statement. We lost every game that mattered ... FACT!
You miss the point Dylan ... of course games matter ... but the point is you get to a point where you are say 5-0 and playing a team you want revenge, lets say it's Texas ... you are undefeated and a chance to go 6-0 and beat the team that cost the Big 12 Championship the year before ... Texas isn't that good this year anyway ... lets roll 'em ... and what happens ... you lose the game ... the one that really matters. No paybacks there.that's dumb. did the missouri game matter? kansas state? okie state? i agree though that we laid an egg in the bowl game and it might hurt recruiting. we're all disappointed that this season didn't fulfill its (unexpected) early promise, but let's not act like it was a total failure. we won 10 games and were darn close to being in the fiesta bowl. obviously we need to keep improving now and get this offense going one way or the other.
