The Bubba Starling Thread

According to ESPN's new mock draft, they have him going 6th to the Nationals. If he gets drafted here I think he goes the college route. Why would he go to a team that can't spell?

Washington would be a great place for Bubba to be. He'd get to be with fellow teenage phenom Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg, Ryan Zimmerman, Jayson Werth. The Nationals have some excellent young talent, by the time Bubba gets to the MLB the Nats could very well be a playoff team. And D.C. is a great city.
Yeah I think it would be a good fit for him too. I'm a Braves fan, so I like to make fun of the Natinals.
I am a long time Braves fan as well. Tell you what if Bubba landed in Atlanta he would be in the majors in two years. Don't mind my arrogance but the Atlanta Braves do the best job of developing young talent. To claim that it is another franchise is simply incorrect.
Hell yeah they do. There was a reason they won 14 consecutive division titles.

If the Royals took him, I look for him to go the baseball route. Congrats to him, that is awesome. Hopefully they can land another big bat and an arm and they will be looking really good for the next few years.

This could work. KC may feel obligated to still give him a chance because he is the hometown kid if his football career doesn't pan out, yeah? Wishful thinking... :(

I know the obvious thing would be that the Royals will offer Bubba the money wants, and Bubba will be comfortable so close to home... But really, who wants to play for the Royals? Talk about dooming yourself to a career of loserdom.

Once the big three pitchers were taken(Garret Cole, Trevor Bauer and the kid from Virginia) this became a no brainer. Bubba watch was fun, but it is time to start closing the book. It is well publicized they were his favorite team growing up and the proximity doesn't hurt either. Think about it for his parents in the future Single A in Illinois, AA in NW Arkansas and AAA in Omaha. Not a lot of milage to see him. This really doesn't seem like an enigma to me.

I would love to see Bubba don the Scarlet and Cream, and he has always said the right things, and potentially wants to play football at the next level, but I throw the % back to 94-6 that he goes baseball. We were fortunate to be in the position we are sitting in with one of the best pure stud athletes that many have seen in a very long time. Still holding out the slightest of hope, just not expecting the upset.
