Am I the only one annoyed by the QB clapping for hiking the ball? I really don't see how we benefit from it at all.

It works really well to identify blitzes, with a fake clapping motion the defense usually gives away what they are doing.

The assumption is that the clap hikes the ball. It doesn't. It lets the center know the QB is ready, and the center does the actual snap count.

We've played better since adopting it. Fewer false starts, fewer bad snaps. I say keep it.
