I've addressed this as well. I'm sure there are irrational people that don't understand the math or don't understand that they are taking home way more money or are just plain greedy and always want more, but you've dropped the word "rational" which you used originally. Rational people understand why they have a good deal and are not getting hosed.

I addressed this as a ridiculous question and posed a better question that you failed to address.

But I'll indulge you and dig into this further. I would happily get taxed more if I also earned more. I'm completely in favor of it. I favor higher tax rates on those that can most afford it and lower tax rates on those least able to do so. And that includes my own earnings, which are higher than the median and at higher tax brackets. I don't think we should bump up tax rates for no reason, but I strongly favor bumping up higher earners tax rates for either paying down the national debt or reducing the tax rates on the lowest earners.

And because of the way progressive tax brackets work, I as a higher earner actually pay the same amount of tax on my lowest earnings - the same as everyone else. The higher taxes are only on the highest earnings, which you say everyone understands, but you keep ignoring that since it means everyone is paying the same tax rate. The only difference is the earning levels.

To the bolded, I actually don’t.   That would be like respecting a porn star for her acting chops  :lol:

to the first part, her and her squad partners are equally as stupid as MTG and the Boebart’s.  Congress will be better  if/when they are all replaced.

On one hand you've got folks with actual doctorates, people who graduated cum laude and had all kinds of fellowships.

On the other, you have a high school dropout who just got a GED certificate in 2020 and worked as a McDonald's assistant manager and a file clerk along with a business major undergrad from Georgia with no educational or intellectual achievements of any kind.

Back on the first hand you've got plenty of hot takes and unapologetically leftist ideas that are quite unpopular with some but are nonetheless informed by actual developed political and economic theory. Extreme, but not uneducated.

To be fair though, on the other hand, you've got claims that elementary school kids won't get killed if they're armed with assaut weapons, that jewish space lasers caused wildfires, that Ilhan Omar is a terrorist, Obama is a muslim, and that most of our government officials are actively worshiping Satan.

So yeah, seems like an even matchup.

Ehhhhh, slippery slope when you just assume people with a lot of formal education are the smartest.

I am willing to bet I have more formal education than just about everyone that posts here.  A lot more.

And face it...no one is confusing me for being the smartest poster.  

In fact when we do have posts about my field of "expertise" most posters assume they know more and even think people with ZERO formal education in my field and zero experience in my field should have a say and know more.

I mean, that only works when you are talking about the fire department.
