Trump continues to act unconstitutionally so the Schumer lead Democrats who appeased a dictator miscalculated.

I think Schumer’s opinion (and mine) is that things like this were going to continue happening anyway but, in a government shutdown, Trump would have even more power and latitude to slash and burn and funnel money where he desired. Yes, Trump needs to be stopped but a government shutdown would have just magnified and expedited his agenda. 
 

I understand the desire to blame some congressional Dems but the real problem here is Trump, Musk and the enabling R magats. Hopefully the Ds have a plan to curtail it before midterms can help begin to change it.
