And please. Everyone here remembers your take on Liz Cheney and the paltry few GOP obstructionists.  Don't make us go look for it.
I remember it too.   It’s exactly how I’ve always described it.   Don’t make me go look for it.   Liz decided that investigating Trump for Jan6th was the only thing she was capable of at the time.  Not investigating other relevant matters related to Jan 6th or advancing Republican priorities legislatively at the time.

Actually I’m now making you go look for it!!

Only thing capable of?

At the time, Liz Cheney was trying to assemble Republican resistance to Donald Trump, believing he was a threat to the country and the future of the Republican Party. I don't recall what piece of legislation you consider more important than that. Obviously those weren't Republican priorities, but they were shared by thoughtful Republicans trying to create space outside the loyalist bubble. One of them was you, according to those HB posts that virtually echoed Cheney's words. Yet you had nothing but contempt and nicknames for Liz and the maverick Republicans who were probably Ron DeSantis' best chance for breaking the cult.

"Move on, nothing to see here" is the kind of response you'd expect from someone who pretended not to vote for Trump a third time, but actually did.

And it has always been about more than J6.

Good news, though. Cheney failed. Your guy continues unimpeded.

She was trying to bring charges of starting an insurrection against him which as we know is crazy.   That is quite different than assembling Republican Resistance and backfired quite spectacularly.  She had no interest in investigating anything about Jan 6th that she didn’t think would lead to DJT.  To me, that isn’t the point of a commission.

She could have done what the rest of us did and speak out about how DJT did nothing in the immediate aftermath and very little after that to quell the riot.

DJT was at his most vulnerable politically at that point and she and the Democrats had a chance to let him waste away at his golf course by forgetting his existence.  Instead they made him out to be a martyr with enough supporters to win the Republican nomination and now he is where he is.

Well that's an interesting take!

This is why the Democrats need to reclaim the populist mantle. Bernie, and to a lesser extent Buttegieg, know how to talk to Trump Bros and podcast libertarians. They find common space on broken systems and elite privilege, but they walk you through the history of wealth disparity until you realize the culture wars are a distraction from the guys who are really picking your pocket. It involves relaxed confidence, blatant honesty, and no patronizing. Democrat candidates aren't always good at that.
