Out of all the big "issues" over the last, say, 50 years or so...I feel like only Y2K was handled "normally" by most people.This is a great article that describes how the , as @teachercd describes them, “enviro bros” have done a disservice to the issues.

We aren’t all going to die from heat and drought. But eventually we are going to have to face a lot of changes and expenses.
I don't remember a ton of people losing their mind over Y2K, I am sure there were some bunker bros that were thrilled that "the world was going to end" but it was few and far between, from what I remember.
