The Fighting Erstad's vs. The Boilermakers of Purdue

Even though I (luckily) predicted the sweep (post #8), this series was not nearly as lopsided as the scores indicate.

Not to take anything away from the Huskers, but the embarrassingly woeful defense of Purdue played a huge part in this series.

We probably take the first and third games anyway, but the egregious and untimely errors in game two probably helped us win that game.

Again, kudos to the Huskers for taking advantage (and then putting their foot on the throat when the gates opened), but we left a ton of runners on base.

However, no one was lighting candles for us when we muffed a few early season games, so I'm glad to be back at .500.

Just hope we recognize that most opponents won't be that generous.

This was the first road conference sweep for Nebraska since 2008, when Nebraska swept Kansas.
KSU, pardon my nitpickery :cheers Purdue's no great shakes by any stretch, but it's great that they did their business, as Erstad said. They did their business all over their new stadium eyeswear2allthatsholy I'll quit drinking now.

This sweep coupled with the Arky sweep has me a little excited but to be honest only a little. I'm still not convinced that a team that can't win a series at home against tOSU is something to get excited about.
