The Gap

A man was writing the word HIM. Why did he deliberately leave a gap between the final two letters so that it looked like HI M?

Was the man stranded someplace?

Was he trying to get a message out?

If yes, was he trying to write Hi mom?

Is there something about his writing that's unusual?

Was he writing it to a crowd of people?

was it some sort of clever way to incorporate two messages into one?

was it in a sign the writer was trying to use to get on TV at a sporting event?
