The Gophers used to be a football power and then they faded. Illinois used to be a football power and they faded. Nebraska struggled for about two decades before Devany was hired and then things took over and what we saw at the end of the Osborne era is what was created. But then the struggle started with finding the right man to lead this football program. If Scott Frost wasn't hired this program would have likely struggled for many, many years and may not have been able to turn things around for most of our remaining lives. We would have seen the sellout streak end. We would have seen fired coaches after fired coaches with no end in sight. We would have gone through more losing seasons. Recruits would no longer care or view an offer from Nebraska as a program to take serious (like MN for many decades).
Because we were able to land Scott Frost as hour head coach, we will be seeing a return of teaching football players how to play and compete at a high level at this level of football, we will see the sellout streak continue, we will start to be Wiscosnin and Iowa again, we will start to compete for the B1G West title again, we will eventually win a conference title again, and, yes, we will win a national title under Scott Frost.
Hiring Scott Frost saved this football program and I couldn't be happier about it.
God bless every Husker out there!!
