This isn't a talent issue--we've already addressed this in other threads.
This isn't an issue with the officiating--it was crappy on both sides of the ball, and frankly, the game shouldn't have been so close that they could have affected the outcome directly.
This wasn't an issue with the weather--both teams had to deal with the same garbage weather through the entire game.
This game is on the coaches and scheme. When you show that the running game is consistently gaining yards and first downs, then you don't move away from it except to occasionally keep the defense honest. Constantly throwing the ball all game and expecting different results is asinine and a coaching gaffe.
When you know your defense needs a safety to cover up top, and you take him out on perhaps the most important series of the game, that's a coaching gaffe.
When the best player of the game is your punter...you know you're not doing something right as a coach.
There are no excuses, and no reason to support the current regime. The pressure needs to be put on our AD and Chancellor to rectify this hire at the end of the season. If that means killing the sellout streak, then so be it. If fans need to so something drastic, like spamming the University with requests to fire Riley and company, then so be it.
But Nebraska deserves better than this. Those kids deserve better than this s**tshow of a coaching staff.
