I think it's funny he mentions greats like Jerry Rice and Walter Payton.  I don't think either one of those guys were the number one recruit coming out and on top of it getting 1 mil in NIL bonus.  They were great because of the moon sized chip on their shoulder.

 
So, did Nebraska make a mistake asking boosters to donate to $150,000,000 facilities project instead of paying players a million?


I would say "mistake" is probably too strong.  I think the functionality of the new facility will still be a big draw.

But going forward, I think you could make a pretty strong case to at least split that equally.

True, since I think the fund raising and planning started before NIL was a thing.
