The Running Back Room

Pretty predictable I know in saying that he kinda reminds you of a Danny Woodhead type of back.  I think he's the kind of guy who Frost could call on when the opposing defense is least expecting it.

RB depth chart looks very thin at the moment.

Wandale is hurt, and who knows knows when he'll be ready.

We wasted 2 games of Rahmir Johnson.  Do they want to burn his shirt?

Will MIles Jones get any carries?

Is Ronald Thompkins even close to being able to get any carries against Purdue or Maryland?

Is Jaylin Bradley still on the team?

Sounds to me like a good opportunity for Miles Jones to step up.

Frost commented in today's presser that while they want to redshirt Rahmir, he may be pressed into more PT due to the current depth at RB.  I also think that Thompkins needed to have another surgery on his knee, so he's probably out for the entire season.

Miles Jones looks to be the guy who could get looks at filling in and getting more PT.  I bought a quart of milk the other day and Jaylin Bradley's picture was on the side of it for a missing person's report.

I'm not so sure this won't be addition by subtraction here. When he's playing well, Washington was absolutely a game changer. But in these past few games he hasn't been, and I feel like Mills has been playing alright. Now he's going to have to be the bell cow back, and instead of guessing whether or not Washington will show up we can feed Mills the ball.

We should be able to cobble together some change of pace between Wan'Dale (when healthy), Rahmir (ideally in 2 games, but if not let's get him 8-10 touches a game), Belt/Mazour, and Miles Jones. But the past 3 games it's felt like we've been forcing it to Washington waiting for him to do something. Our already low big play potential goes down without him, but it should improve our consistency at least.

Wasn't Wandale listed at the top of the depth chart today?
