The NFL is more about scheming and puttin pieces in place than it is developing talent. Many times coaces are handed players in there prime. Development is a much more challenging issue in college than in the NFL.I don't want him as a coach here, but he wouldn't have continual NFL jobs if he couldn't coach and develop talent.Yes. Because of Bo. They sure the hell wouldntve after another 2-3 years under Callahan. I know we've been over this before. So Bo recruiting wasnt ghat great at first. So he beeds talent to succeed. Wow. Theres a news flash.Excuse me?Of the coaches since Devaney, Pelini probably had the least laid out for him based on being the only coach to have losing seasons precede his tenure.Uh, no.
I'm going to nip this rom-com "Bo Pelini is on a journey" before it starts.
It was all laid out for him. He only has himself to thank/blame for all his achievements/accomplishments.
We've been through this before, but my god man, there are current nfl all pro members that were on that 07 team.
Vintage polo...Totes. No one ever improves in the nfl.
Don't you complain about people setting up strawman arguments? I suppose this is the tangent thread. Carry on.Totes. No one ever improves in the nfl.
You certainly implied it, as you were dismissing away whatever claim you were making in the first place.Vintage polo...Totes. No one ever improves in the nfl.
I never said that. Please quote me where i said-or even insinuated-that there is no need for development in the NFL. Now. On to what i really did say. That "The NFL is more about scheming and puttin pieces in place than it is developing talent".
Developing talent is more crucial in the college game than it is in the Nfl.
Abd in regards to callahan, please show me the offense that he worked for thats been of such juggernaut status since Gruden was his brain.....
Hence, im not very sure hes even that great at that. Of course any husker fan with perspective would already know this.
And thus the hopeful end of yet another thread about this ever-so-stale topic that many many people, including Pelini's boss, disagree with you on.I don't want him as a coach here.
this seems like a specious argument that may have been true in the 90's. but given how many true freshman start and make an impact and how athletes are playing at a pretty high level at competition for most of their lives, i would imagine player development is not what it used to be in college. and if you got the right players, it would be about just plug and play. The NFL is more about scheming and puttin pieces in place than it is developing talent. Many times coaces are handed players in there prime. Development is a much more challenging issue in college than in the NFL.
Lol... when haven't you been clamoring for the backup? You wanted Carnes to start over Taylor.I am not excited about Armstrong as our QB in any way shape or form. Bo has tunnel vision so we are more or less stuck with him unless he gets injured. Kellogg should have seen the field tons more than he ended up seeing last season. Nothing shocking there.
I'm team Stanton and the guy hasn't even taken a snap yet. That's how unimpressed I am with Tommy Armstrong so far anyway.

When I see posts like this that do not get moved to places like the tangent thread, as opposed to the posts that do, it answers a lot.Lol... when haven't you been clamoring for the backup?
