No excuses. It would be and no they shouldn't.I agree. But what about everyone who has proclaimed that our schedule is a bunch of cupcakes and anything more than 2 losses is a failure?I agree with this from a "power rankings" standpoint. We'd beat Iowa/Wisconsin on a neutral field 2 out of 3 this year. The schedule is what has the two of them in front of us in most cases.
Anyhow, with all the injuries, they may want to revise that ranking.
As a pure power ranking standpoint, I don't see how Espn would see injuries to two DB's with minimal playing time, a LB that isn't really known outside of NU and a RB who has yet to play a down as a death blow. If that's what built the difference between a team that could play for the Rose Bowl or one that didn't then I doubt they would have picked NU to begin with.No excuses. It would be and no they shouldn't.I agree. Oh,so now they're unknown? I was led to believe by some that these now unknown commodities are expected to win championships. Further, I would hope the team has the no excuses mantra.
It's not incredibly concerning because injuries happen to literally every team in every sport.Oh,so now they're unknown? I don't see how losing 3 expected starters on defense is not some what concerning. Unless they now grow players on trees.
I guess I haven't said much about recruiting expect that it has improved the last 2-3 years. Either way, we were thin at those positions, and the players we lost didn't have much experience to begin with. I know I've seen enough football to understand that true freshman aren't going to normally be as good as 5th years seniors. Well unless your getting a bunch of 5 stars who are game ready. It's not incredibly concerning because injuries happen to literally every team in every sport.
Oh and the "Bo gets recruiting and we have TEH DEPTH" mantra should assuage your worries. In no way should this be framed as an "out"
And cmon, unknown to Espn and unknown to NU fans are two wholly different things, it's foolish to say otherwise.

I'll agree, ESPN doesnt have the same familiarity as our fans. I just wish that some of us would recognize that.
The easter bunny, santa? He's not going to give you a realistic answer that doesn't involve some level of gibberish...Who should we go get then Polo? What coach would come here? Even Jim Grobe turned us down. Houston Nutt, turned us down...
