The Village of the "Banned"

Just for clarity's sake, my use of the word 'obfuscating' was more in relation to what appeared to be two separate but correlated issues - P&R forum diversity of opinion (which, I agree with your desire to want some balance) and people being moderated. It is 100% not our job to mediate the political equilibrium of this board's P&R forum among the couple dozen active posters in there, or take that into consideration when handing out punishments. I can't sit here and think "hmm... this person is being a cuck, but I shouldn't suspend or warn them because then there will be a viewpoint imbalance."

I was intentionally vague in my initial responses regarding Archy because, as a general rule of thumb, I don't like to air another active poster's laundry. And I had a feeling where you were going to go with it. That's also why I made the comment about 'moving beyond it' because moderation practices here are a) pretty light-handed/fair overall and b) not going to change.

So I'd throw this back on you all more than anything. 95% of the time our members are pretty good about following the rules. The rules have also been the same for the better part of two decades now. But if people don't want the moderators to step in then don't give us a reason to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I would say this is particularly true if you happen to be someone with multiple warnings already to your name who then decides to continue dipping their toes in the cuck water.

Just bring your guys' s#!t to the shed more often. Play nice in P&R and then come here to aimlessly fling s#!t at one another so we can all get some entertainment out of it at least. That is, after all, part of the reason we have the Shed.

I think somebody needs to look up the definition of “advocating”  for something to happen. That is pure bulls#!t. I simply replied to BRB’s comment that “they’ve been setting this up”. My intent was to convey that “if” it happens, a false flag would be better than some deep state plan. I wasn’t advocating for s#!t.

If the subject is that taboo then stop people from posting Twitter links about it. And if my post was so egregious and deemed “Conduct detrimental to Huskerboard” then why is the post still there? It was so bad that it hasn’t been moved or deleted.

My only acknowledgement for the warning is realizing the mods and admins can do whatever they want whenever they want and imo the 10 day suspension was bulls#!t.

I don’t need an explanation or any modsplaining. I know I was previously warned about it, that is why I didn’t do it again. I think somebody was having a bad day or felt compelled to “even” things up on the other side from Archy.

So there, that’s off my chest.

What were you suspended for?
“Conduct detrimental to Huskerboard”. They said I was advocating for someone to be killed. I wasn’t. It’s in the Right Wing disinformation thread.

In their defense, I had toed that line before and been warned about it but this was a clear case of misunderstanding what I posted.

OK. Weird thing to suspend someone over.

I posted about a false flag ******ination of Donald Trump myself. It's not what anyone would advocate for, and in fact would be a huge asset for both the GOP and rightwing agitators. Which is why it's plausible and should be discussed out loud — so it doesn't happen.

Definitely not. But because of the bold, I think it's a near-certainty that there's an attempt on his life.

Yep. I understand why they don’t want posters on their site encouraging it or calling for it to happen. That’s nothing anybody wants to be associated with. But if the topic can’t be mentioned or discussed at all then that needs to be made abundantly clear to everyone. And the place to start is with the people who post Tweets with that as the topic.

That is absolutely what you said and any attempt to try to reimagine what you said is pretty disingenuous.

The Tweet was about someone who "might be looking to assassinate Trump."  Even if it's completely a fabrication, that's just commenting on a story that would be significant if it happened to be true.  Trying to place the blame on that being posted is pretty weak.

Your response was "What is when a false flag operation wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, Alex?"  Even if that was just in jest, you were undeniability saying that having that happen (Trump getting assassinated) "wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing."

The subject isn't taboo.  Advocating for it happening is.  That's not that hard to understand.

Wrong.

BRB said “they are setting this up”. To me that meant they are setting up to have a false flag. They article he linked (which I didn’t read) but based on the visible part was about Rs claiming it would happen due to some deep state theory. My response to BRB, while trying to be funny/cute was saying that, imo a false flag attempt would be better than the deep state doing it. Thus not necessarily a bad thing.

That isn’t advocating for it. That isn’t saying it should happen or that I want it to happen. It is offering an opinion of one way being better than another way. Any attempts to portray it as more than that is wrong.

Look up the definition of advocating. I did not and am not advocating for it to happen. Somebody has to get creative to interpret what was actually said the way you are. And, if we toss context aside, even if it was just me straight up saying it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, how is that advocating for it to happen? It isn’t. It’s just my opinion that it wouldn’t necessarily be the worst thing that could happen.

Seems to me that you are making the subject taboo, selectively, for me only, and I think that sucks. But not to worry, I will stay 50 f#&%ing miles away from that subject from now on.

Advocating? Bulls#!t, look it up.
