OK folks, here's the deal. We all know we're being flooded with derp these last few weeks. The season doesn't go as planned and suddenly these guys come out of the woodwork. We're going to fix this, but we're going to be smart about it.
First, everyone likes baiting Captain Derp. We have to stop this. When someone posts utter nonsense, we've got to stop calling them out in the thread. Try to discuss with them, but if it becomes clear that they're only here to cause trouble, report the post and the Mods will look into it. Super craptastic threads will go bye-bye. Some may just get locked. If we have repeat offenders over the course of a few weeks they'll earn their way out the door.
Second, do not take matters into your own hands. We've had some regular members, the backbone of HuskerBoard, take things too far recently and earn themselves some time off from the board. Nothing frustrates us more than having to impose discipline on the guys who make HuskerBoard great. Report, report, report. It'll suck for the Mods, but that's what we're here for. Trying to moderate the threads yourselves just gets you into trouble.
Finally, don't go out on a witch hunt. Not all new members are derps, and not all new members need watching. Be cool to the n00bs - we were all n00bs once. I guess the best advice is be wary but be friendly. They'll prove it to you/us if they're just here to spew derp. That's when you report the post/thread, and that's when we'll take action.
Remember - this is your board, our board, and it's the best Husker sports forum out there because of us. Let's do some maintenance and keep HuskerBoard clean, together.
