It's been a long time since I've been really excited for the season to begin.

Heck, why not? Its Kool-Aid season until kickoff for us. Let's aim for unrealistic predictions. 12-1 B1G champs and a playoff berth this year!!! Frost dethrones Saban!

Part of me wishes we would have hired frost instead of Riley but like you mentioned the electricity etc around the program is jacked up. You don't have to worry about the firing a 9 win coach crowd because that's long gone. You bring in a guy that satisfied everything you wanted in a HC. Even if he wasnt a former player for us he was still the best HC on the market. 

The entire state trusts that Frost will right the ship and he will. I have zero doubt that we will be back to at minimum competing to win the conference within a few years. 

To be fair - we might not have this feeling if we hired Frost right out of the gate. Although Riley was bad for Nebraska, the mediocrity he brought to the program while Frost was building something special at UCF, is part of the reason why we all feel this way. 

Even if we go 7-5, so long as we look like a football team and that the football team reflects the people of the state, I won't care. But I would be lying if I thought we were going to lose to every one of the Big 5 teams (Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, and Michigan State).
