Absolutely and I suspect that he will test out well. With 14-15 teams drafting a tight end every year, and nearly all getting a rookie via draft or free agency, he's got a pretty good shot at collecting a paycheck from an NFL team next year.

Could also be ready just be ready for the next adventure after being here for four years already.

There can’t be a lot left for him to do in Lincoln. And he’s got Rhule’s guy, HH, breathing down his neck.

No doubt, the HH hype is nice, but a lot of hot air right now. Will be interesting to see if he can hold up as an every down tight end or if he's going to be a gadget guy like he was last year. Really hoping we've got a steal in Mac healing up and getting ready to go. That guy looks the part.

Calvin Jones, former Husker football standout, dies at 54




Calvin Jones, an Omaha Central grad and former Husker football standout, died Wednesday. The 54-year-old was found dead in his residence, officials confirmed to KETV NewsWatch 7.

A close family friend told KETV that Jones was having problems with his furnace, his home was cold and had to use a generator. According to a police report, officers responded to the home to help Omaha Fire with an odor of gas. Jones was found deceased in the basement of the residence.

Omaha police told KETV that it's indicative of carbon monoxide poisoning.

So sorry to hear this.  An important member of Husker history, enjoyed watching him make mess of Big 8 defenses.
