Those No Longer With Us

The stretch of RBs that Central produced was pretty crazy.

Leodis Flowers (1988-1990) - #2 RB in 1989, leading rusher in 1990; finished his career as the #17 rusher in Husker history, despite sharing the backfield with Ken Clark, who was #2 when he completed his career;  Clark is #6 now, Flowers is #36

Calvin Jones (1991-1993) - as noted below, he finished his career as the #2 all-time rusher, currently #8

Ahman Green (1995-1997) - on my short list as favorite Husker ever, also finished his career as the #2 all-time rusher, now #3 behind Rozier and Abdullah

Pretty impressive for one high school.

Weird this thread was finally used for an actual death.  I suppose as long as it's been around it was going to happen eventually.

This Kansas game is my favorite Calvin memory.  I don't even remember what Fox Sports was back then, but I think it was Fox Midwest or Fox Prime.  I remember watching it on Saturday and then again on Monday replay.  He just kept running.

I also saw him play once in high school.  I think I was in middle school.  He looked like a giant compared to the others on the field.

It happened before for Mark Pelini...

Ty Robinson not being mentioned amongst the winnners/losers from the first day. I watched his reps with the 1-on-1's and he did alright- maybe played a bit too high.

If you want to go see what NU fans missed out on in the bowl game, watch the EDGE from BC. He dominated a couple reps. That guy would have been a problem in that game.

GO BIG RED!!!!

Was earlier reported that he was looking really good in workouts.  But now...

He made it back on the field pretty quickly.

Honestly hoping it was affecting him on this rep - it's just one rep, and one on ones with this much space are unfair to defenders. But... yikes.

Seems like it's been relatively quiet for the guys at the senior bowl. They have some workout data this year, and I don't think it's worth drawing a ton of conclusions from but Fidone in particular is not putting up impressive numbers.

Meanwhile the Shrine Bowl guys (Hutmacher and Neyor) are getting quite a few mentions, Neyor had a rough start but he is a freak athlete. Just wildly inconsistent with the hands which I think will justifiably scare teams away.

Yeah, maybe I reversed jinxed them - starting seeing a lot more clips of nice catches from Fidone and PBUs from Hill. And I don't think Robinson has been bad, just getting a little lost with all the hype building for Green from Marshall and Ezeiruaku from BC. Green made himself some money and is ducking out of the rest of the practices and the game though.
