Thread of Hate

What if Jamal had caught that ball and we won in blowout fashion?

If that had happened it might be even worse than it is now.

I hate that my girlfriend hasn't received a call for an interview yet. She's a great teacher and very passionate about education. It's very frustrating for me since there's nothing I can do to help her.

She just graduated? Shouldn't sweat it yet. Not sure where you're at, but they just started doing interviews this week around here. They'll continue into June.

She taught for a year in Arizona, then worked at a center in Las Vegas for kids with autism/Asperger's for a year, and now she's taught another year here in Colorado, but now she's moving to live with me. I think her history of changing jobs might be scaring some people off.

My buddy didn't get an interview until two weeks before school started. He was offered the job and had to scramble to get ready before the year started. Some of my other friends were substitute teachers for two years before being offered FT positions.

Tell her not to give up and call school districts that she applies to and ask if they've received her application.

Was your buddy in Nebraska?

A lot of the school districts she has applied to here in Colorado only have the jobs listed for about a week or 10 days. The school district in Ft Collins is really tough to get into, but from what I was told, they offered a big retirement package to get rid of some older teachers. So we're just keeping our fingers crossed!

Yeah, he lives in Nebraska. Its a tough market here for teachers, also. He was actually talking about how he'd need to probably move in order to get a job. He just kept applying and calling school districts until he got an interview.

Funny thing is, the position he interviewed for, he didn't get the position. But he made a good impression on the principal that she called another school in the district that was hiring also and told that principal to hire my buddy. So just remember, when she interviews with a district, it might not just be at the school she applied to.

I hate that our new bookkeeper is dumber than a box of rocks. Said she had experience with payroll, AR, AP, general accounting BS...... Apparently not. Can't tell the difference between what she enters in our QuickBooks software and the actual checking account balance at the bank. Somehow she thinks entries she makes here happen real time at the bank also. f#*k me! What makes it really bad is that she was recommended by, and is the sister of, a very good customer. Should've followed my gut instinct and not hired her because of the relationship issue. Who knows, maybe it'll work out and she'll learn something.
