Thread of Hate

Kerry vs Bush comes to mind. Nobody was really voting for Kerry, they just wanted to vote against Bush. A monkey in a suit would have gotten the same amount of votes.

There wasn't really any good reason to hate Kerry. He was just boring and unrelatable.

I actually went to one of his rallies in Des Moines about a month before the election (but voted for Nader).

We all stood outside for maybe 4 hours waiting and then for 15-30 minutes listening to his speech. It was around 30 degrees out so pretty uncomfortable. His wife came out in a huge fur coat to stand by him and acted like she was suffering the worst torture anyone has ever suffered because she had to be outside in the cold for 15-30 minutes and then hurried back inside once he was done talking. It probably doesn't seem like a big deal but I can't have been the only one thinking how long we, the little people, had been standing outside. (He also had a smarmy as hell Clinton-wannabe running mate who ended up being a complete a**hole).

Yeah, I would take Kerry over either of the Bozos we have to choose between in a couple weeks. And as much as I was unimpressed with Dubya, I would take him over these two as well.

I hate teacher inservice where a 10 minute youtube video would produce better results than a 2 1/2 hour presentation from an over paid "educational consultant" - i.e. a former administrator that is so incompetent they can't get another job.

I hate teacher inservice as well. I don't want to be in charge of those days, but it seems like a waste of time on most days that we have them.

I hate the fact that it seems like kids are never in school anymore. We have this in service day. break for this. Break for that. early dismissal here. early there. day off cuz it's too cold. day off cuz its too hot. Seems like there's hardly ever a full 5 day week anymore. So why the hell cant some common sense be used to put one of these planned days off the day after halloween?

As a teacher, I fully agree with this. It seems like we are out of school more than we are in school. And we wonder why we are falling behind a lot of countries in academics. Kids are out of school for way too many activities and breaks.

The reason today is an inservice day is because the elementary teachers/admin didn't want to put up with hyped up on sugar students after Halloween.
